Peter and Billie take their twin sons on a family ski vacation in the Alps, hoping to have a relaxing and fun-filled holiday.While they’re lunching outdoors at a ski hut, an avalanche thunders towards them — a product of the ski resort’s normal controlled-avalanche safety program. Peter runs for shelter, abandoning his family. The controlled avalanche itself turns out to be harmless, but Peter’s instinctive response causes the greater danger to his family, calling into question his role as a father and husband.The ski vacation quickly goes haywire, as the family unravels with comedic infighting and raw emotional breakdowns, until they ultimately rebuild themselves into a harmonious unit again.
