A village in Lower Austria. Countryside. A feeling of freedom and liberation starts to spread in the early 80ies, but suddenly the localfactory closes and especially the young people have to rethink their plans for the future.Anna studies in Passau, Germany, but helps her uncle from time to time, who reopened a hostelry in the village. The local playboyKurt is making advances to Anna and after a while they start having an affair. Anna wants to keep it casual, but when she finds out,that Kurt has a fiancé named Elisabeth, she realises, that she might be more emotional involved than she thought. And then there isalso this terrible accident at the river. That’s the moment everyone realises: Nothing is as it once was.
