Epicentro interrogates the butterfly effect in geopolitics, the paradox of time, imperialism and cinema. All this leads us to the Epicentro Cuba.There is a direct link between the birth of moving images and the rise of the world’s most mighty empire, the USA. Cinema produces dreams and nightmares, reflects reality and lies, brings understanding and triggers wars. Cinema is a century-old “witchcraft” thatconstantly changes the fate of humanity. Epicentro is a character-based movie, the story of centuries will be told through the encounter of (extra) ordinary people. Through this film we will feel and understand the island where the new world was discovered, where globalization was “invented” so to say (as slave trade and sugar export for example were early forms of globalization). We will enter deep into old Havana’s mystery, the city where humans of all continents started living close together for the first time.
