Biopic-drama about the legendary, Russian-German writer and psychoanalyst, Lou Salomè, who was Born in 1891 in St. Petersburg and who led as one of the first emancipated women of the 19th century an Independent and cosmopolitan life. Up to our days she represents a classical femme fatale.1933, in her early seventies she is leading a lonely existence in Göttingen, where she is menaced by the Nazis. Togehter with her close friend and last adorer Ernst Pfeiffer she writes her memoirs. Through flashbacks, the emotional highlights of Lou's life from czarist St. Petersburg till Fin de Siècle in Berlin and Vienna come alive. In 1911 Lou turns to Sigmund Freud, central figure in her life, for advice. On Freud's couch, she finally recognizes the trauma which has inhibited her since her youth. As the only female member ever of Freud's psychoanalytical Wednesday-Society Lou becomes an important assistant and a dear friend to Freud.
