Macondo walks the line between documentary and fiction and tellsa coming-of-age-story about identity, belonging, and self-determination, located in the rough and unadorned reality of refugee communities in Vienna. The story of Ramasan, an 11-year-old boy from Chechnya growing up in a refugee settlement on the outskirts of Vienna. A semi-documentary fiction film rooted in an authentic location and enacted by non-actors closely to theirreal lives.
