Rabenvögel - Schwarze Chronisten

The documentary Rabenvögel - Schwarze Chronicler introduces crows and ravens to the public as our chroniclers, pursuing the thesis that ravens, thanks to their exceptional cognitive abilities, have built up a collective knowledge of the cultural history of humanity. Crows and ravens accompany and observe us since the beginning of human history. They have seen our first steps upright and heard our first articulate sounds. Corvids are very similar in many ways. They are not exotics, not gifted singers, they are not fed, but have to earn their living hard. Most of them no longer live in unspoiled nature, but in ecosystems destroyed by humans. A film about the life of ravens not only tells a lot about fabulously adaptable and intelligent animals, but also a lot about ourselves.
