Rendezvous Marchfeld

The Marchfeld is not only the breadbasket of Austria, but also a border area which was settled early and reflects in itself the history ofAustria in many facets. Worlds collided here, nations were founded and for centuries evil like wars, plague, cholera, grasshopper'splague and the famines linked with it, raged across the country. Peace has set in here very late.Today the people only know very few stories about the coincidence with the Bohemians, Moravia, the Freisingern, the Swabians, theCroatians, the Kuruzen and the Swedes … they all have passed through once, and many of them have thieved, looted and pillaged.Not everybody was evil, however, everyone has left his tracks.
