"Juan Diego is an Aztec who, in 1531, had his heart divided between two opposing worlds: on the one hand, his indigenous roots and traditions represented by his warrior brother Ome; and on the other hand, his new Christian faith, represented by the Spanish missionaries. The solution comes when SHE appears to him on the hill of Tepeyac. It is “la Morenita”: The Mother of Gods that the Aztecs were waiting for, and that the Spaniards call the Mother of God.
